(PEOGA) - Shortly before 4:30 a.m., multiple fire departments were dispatched to a fully engulfed house in the area of the 4600 block of Peoga Road in northern Brown County.
According to Hamblen Fire's public information officer, Barb Gess, the fire had been burning for quite some time before a neighbor at 4616 Peoga Road reported the blaze.
By the time firefighters arrived, about 10 minutes later, the home had collapsed onto the ground.
Gess reported that the home, which sat far off the road, was not occupied when firefighters arrived.
Firefighters spent about three hours on the scene dousing the flames and getting the fire under control.
Gess reported that no firefighters sustained injury.
Gess said an investigator with the Hamblen Volunteer Fire Department will attempt to determine the cause of the fire.
Fruitdale, Cordry Sweetwater and Trafalgar fire departments assisted with manpower and hauling water.
