(UNDATED) - Once again, prices are a little higher at the pump.
Patrick Dehaan who is the senior petroleum analyst for Gasbuddy.com says, malfunctions at three refineries in Indiana and Illinois have contributed to the rise in prices.
That has added to concern that supply may tighten while those issues are addressed but Dehaan expects the issues with the refineries to be worked out soon. He adds that issues in the Middle East haven't had much effect on gas prices recently. He says right now, when it comes to the cause of the rise and fall of gas prices, 60-percent has to do with the national and European economies, 30-percent is supply-and-demand and ten percent has to do with what's going on in the Middle East.
Locally, gas prices are below the state average. A check of prices finds gas at $3.95 in Bedford. Elsewhere it was $3.69 in Bloomfield and Loogootee; $ 3.68 in Washington, $3.67 in Shoals, and the lowest was $3.51 in Seymour.
