The following events are happening in Lawrence County this weekend:
Lowe's Home Improvement, located at 3300 16th Street, invites you to the "Grand Opening" of Red Hot Chicago Hot Dog Stand, which is located inside their entrance, on Saturday, September 1st. They will also have an Adoption Event with White River Humane Society and Dogs will be available for adoption from 11 am - 3 pm.
Orscheln Farm and Home, located at 8997 State Road 37 South, will host Spiehler Fish Farm tomorrow at 1:30 pm.
Garden Villa Health is hosting a Motorcycle ride for Alzheimer's is Saturday today. Register at Garden Villa Health, located at 2111 Norton Lane, Bedford, at 8 am with the ride starting at 9 am. The ride will go through Bloomington to Little Nashville and ending back at Garden Villa Bedford with a cookout, cornhole tournament, and prizes. They are asking everyone to wear purple to support the cause. The cost to participate is $25/bike.
The Lawrence County Art Association presents "Nelson Sears - A Retrospective", a special exhibit honoring a Lawrence County original, at the Wiley Art Center, located at 14th and J Streets in Bedford. Nelson Sears (1905-1978) was one of Lawrence County's most talented, prolific and successful artists. No one really knows how many works he painted, or how many survive. For this exhibit the Lawrence County Art Association is assembling works on loan from private collections for a unique 3-day show. The exhibit opens with a reception tonight from 5 to 7 pm. The reception is open to everyone and free of charge. Tomorrow opening hours are 9 am to 1 pm. On Sunday, August 26th from 1 to 5 pm.
