(BEDFORD) - Bedford police were called to the emergency room Tuesday night to St. Vincent Dunn Hospital when a nurse found a male patient had stuffed culture tubes and a lot of rubber gloves and other items in his pocket.
According to Bedford Police Chief Dennis Parsley, the 20-year-old man was brought to the hospital by his mother for treatment.
When the nurse went in the room to treat and gather information about the man's condition she noticed the man's pockets were bulging with items.
That is when she called police.
The man, who police are not identifying, told officers he thought his health insurance company would pay for the items he stuffed in his pockets.
Parsley says the man was not arrested, but the information has been passed on to the Lawrence County Prosecutor's office for review.
