(WASHINGTON) - Matthew Twitty, of Washington, was arrested after he allegedly stole beef jerky from the Save-A-Lot in Washington.
An employee called police and reported Twitty, who was in the store with a 10 and 12-year-old, was caught stealing the cheese and when he realized the employee was calling police he ran from the store leaving the children behind.
The mother of the children, who is an acquaintance of Twitty's was called and came to the store to get the children.
Twitty was apprehended by police and, admitted to stealing the items even though he had the money to pay for them.
Twitty was charged with criminal conversion.
