(UNDATED) - State Police negotiators talked a man out of harming himself Wednesday afternoon.
It all started just after noon when a called told Daviess County authorities that a man later identified as Lee Seals had a truck backed up to her daughter's garage on Daviess County Road 950 South.
The woman told police she told Seals to leave but she wasn't sure if anything had been stolen from the garage.
Not long after as police were investigating, Seals mother called police and said her son had a gun and was threatening to hurt himself if police approached.
Seals cell phone call was traced to Dubois County. Later in the afternoon, Seals mother called police again and said her son had ran out of gas and was in a Dubois County field with a gun to his head.
Police managed to take Seals into custody after negotiations. He was taken to Daviess County charged with theft and receiving stolen property.
