(ORLEANS) - 32-year-old Mitchell Simpson and 29-year-old Leslie Simpson, both of Orleans, were arrested on charges of possession and manufacturing of meth, possession of precursors and maintaining a common nuisance.
Orleans Police Chief Roy McFarland says the couple were arrested Friday after police accompanied with Child Protective after police received a call of possible child neglect and drug activity.
When officials went to the home in the 400 block of South Roosevelt Street they discovered meth laying in plain sight.
Police obtained a search warrant and discovered the homeowners were making meth. Child Protective Services removed a small child from the home and placed the child in the care of family members.
The Orange County Sheriff Department, Indiana State Police and Orleans Police conducted the investigation.
