(ORLEANS) - Orleans Town officials played host to neighboring town officials, council members, clerk-treasurers, managers and department heads last Thursday night for Indiana Association of Cities and Towns (IACT) Town Roundtable.
The dinner meeting was held at OCC, Unity Hall.
The IACT Roundtables rotate to different locations several times a year offer town officials a causal environment to learn about the latest local government issues and to share ideas and experiences with neighboring communities.
"Hot topics" for the Orleans roundtable event included a brief review of nepotism requirements, town budgeting, and need for continual and improved communication.
Orleans Town Clerk Robert F. Henderson gave the welcome and a brief history of Indiana's Dogwood Capital and highlighting several projects that the town currently is currently working on including the S.R. 37 improvements, overhauling the town's 80 year old sewer system, and the recent "Imagine Orleans" efforts.
