(MITCHELL) - Mitchell police officers arrested two people after they were caught having sex in a van in front of Persimmon Park Apartment Thursday night.
Mitchell police officers arrested two people after they were caught having sex in a van in front of Persimmon Park Apartment Thursday night.
Police received a call at 10:03 p.m. from a resident in the apartment complex reporting the incident.
45-year-old Gene Smith, of Mitchell was charged with public intoxication and Melissa Pemberton, of Mitchell, was charged with public intoxication and public indecency.
"When police arrived the two were in the act of having sex in a van parked in front of the apartment complex," Mitchell Police Chief Mark Hardman says. "Don't know why they were parked there. They don't even live in the apartment complex."
Hardman was not sure why Smith was not charged with the public indecency charge.
