(EDINBURGH) - Police in Edinburgh say a rash of vehicle break-ins have been reported over the past several weeks at Edinburgh Premium outlets.
Edinburgh Police Department interim chief David Lutz told our news gathering partners at "The Republic" that thieves have been breaking into locked cars and taking electronics such as MP3 players, cellphones and iPads.
Lutz says residents should lock high-value items in the trunk or hide them under the seats, so thieves can't see them. He says they also should put any shopping bags in a locked trunk.
