(SALEM) - 27-year-old Jennifer Tyre, of Salem, was arrested after she lost control of her vehicle and crashed on North Main Street in Salem Friday night.
According to police Tyre, tested for more than twice the legal limit for alcohol consumption.
Stephanie Taylor Ferriell, of the Leader-Democrat reports, Tyre, who suffered a head injury, refused treatment at the scene. She was then arrested by Salem City Police Officer Chad Webb and taken to St. Vincent Salem Hospital for a blood alcohol test and treatment of her injury.
According to the police report, Tyre was southbound when she veered completely into the northbound lane and then into a ditch. Her 1998 silver Acura Integra, then struck a culvert, causing the car to turn facing east. Police say as the vehicle began to overturn, it struck a decorative retaining wall, with the rear of the car then coming to rest in the northbound lane.
Tyre is arrested on charges of operating a vehicle while intoxicated refusal and operating while intoxicated endangerment.
