(BEDFORD) - According to Bedford Police Chief Dennis Parsley says 41-year-old Jason Taylor, of Bedford, was arrested after he allegedly injured his wife Tuesday afternoon, when they had an argument over medication.
Taylor was arrested on charges of domestic battery and criminal confinement.
According to Parsley, police received a call at 1:51 p.m. from the woman who reported her husband had battered her at their home in the 400 block of R Street.
When police arrived, Indiana University Health Bedford ambulance personnel were treating the woman who suffered cuts and bruises during the fight with her husband.
Parsley says the woman told police she tried to call police during the fight but her husband got on top of her and took the phone from her. She was then able to run to a neighbor's home and call police.
Taylor left the couple's home before police arrived. The woman called police again at 7:20 p.m. to tell police her husband had called her and told her he knew the police were looking for him.
Taylor told his wife that he was heavily armed.
A few minutes later he returned to the couple's home. The woman again called police, but before they arrived he had left.
Police found Taylor a few minutes later driving at the intersection of Ind. 37 and Fifth Street. His vehicle was stopped and he was arrested without incident. Parsley says Taylor had no weapons in the vehicle.
