(BEDFORD) - The Bedford Parks Board voted to lease $245,714 worth of mowing equipment from Wolf Creek, a Jacobsen dealer in Ohio.
Bob Bridge of the Times-Mail reports that the five-year lease includes two large area and bank mowers, two riding greens mowers, two fairway mowers, and one out-front rotary rough mower.
Bedford Parks Director Mike Mitchell says Otis Park Golf Course continues to enjoy a productive 2012. The course is $64,000 ahead of revenue over this time last year
Mitchell says city crews are preparing for this weekend's Claude Akins Memorial Classic, which was rescheduled because of thunderstorms that rolled through the area during the Labor Day weekend.
After the tourney, crews will be putting new roofs on the pro shop and cart barn. A water line will be run from the soccer complex over near hole number 12, so a drinking fountain can be installed and a new septic system will be put in at the Red Brick.
Mitchell says crews at Murray Forest Park have aerated and seeded the softball fields and will be adding fertilizer within the next few days.
He says the water has been drained from Lowery Pool and workers will arrive soon to repair and paint the slide, which was shut down the final weeks of the summer.
