(BEDFORD) - A Bedford woman was arrested after she allegedly hit her 67-year-old mother with a ball bat and stick.
Karla Pierce, 46, of Bedford, was arrested and charged with battery in the presence of a minor, early this morning.
According to Bedford Police Chief Dennis Parsley, officers were called to a home in the 1700 block of 25th Street after a report of an intoxicated woman was involved in a domestic fight.
When police arrived they found the victim had suffered injuries to her arm after being hit with a ball bat and injuries to her head after being hit with a stick.
Parsley says police spoke with the victim and she reported her daughter had hit her. While they were talking to the victim, Pierce continued to be loud and unruly.
Witnesses at the home told police Pierce hit her mother first with the bat in the arm and then went into another room and came back with a stick and hit her mother in the head.
"She was asked to calm down," Parsley says. "She did and was then asked to step outside of the home and she refused."
That is when she was arrested.
