(SALEM) - According to Salem Fire Chief Tom Day, two fires at Hacker Sawmill that occurred late Friday night were suspicious in nature.
Stephanie Taylor Ferriell, of the Leader-Democrat reports, the fires were reported at 11:09 p.m. and the first fire unit arrived at 11:12 p.m.
Day said firefighters discovered a truck with a utility bed on fire, as well as a separate fire inside the mill. Both blazes were brought under control within six or seven minutes.
Day said the truck was destroyed, its cab heavily damaged by fire, but the fire inside the mill was small and didn't cause much damage.
Firefighters left the scene at 12:03 a.m. Saturday.
Anyone with information is asked to call the fire department at 883-4970.
