Clayton Anderson To Perform At Persimmon Festival

(MITCHELL) - Persimmon Festival General Chairman Steve Dobson says some head-liners will be taking the main stage starting Wednesday at the Persimmon Festival.

Clayton Anderson, a Lawrence County native, has spent the past few years living in Nashville, making music and breaking into the record industry.

Anderson will take the stage at 7 p.m. to perform many of his favorite songs, including tunes from his recently released album, "Torn Jeans & Tailgates."

Friday night belongs to the Endless Summer Band. In its 17th year of performing at the Persimmon Festival, the energetic crowd-pleasing performers will take the stage at 7 p.m. performs chart-topping hits that range from The Temptations' "My Girl" to Katy Perry's "Fireworks" and from Eddy Cochrin's "Summertime Blues" to Meatloaf's "Paradise by the Dashboard Light."

Other musical performances next week include the following:

* Building Nations, 6:30 p.m., Thursday. The contemporary Christian band includes David, Karen and Randy VanLandingham, Keeran Jones and Isaac Hawkins, and focuses its music on building up God's glory.

* Wray Brothers, 8 p.m., Thursday. With their roots in Mitchell, members of the Wray Brothers bring their gospel and Christian message to the Persimmon Festival each fall.

* KROSS, 7 p.m., Saturday. Making their third appearance at the festival, Steve Byers, Jerry Spradline, Tom Barrett and Jay Wilson will perform classic rock, ranging from Poison to AC/DC.
