(JACKSON COUNTY) - Jackson County will soon have a compost program for yard waste to add to their recycling program.
The program idea came from Commissioner John Schafstall.
Under the plan, small towns and homeowners associations can establish compost piles with the cost of grinding being shared among residents.
It would enable residents to have free access to the mulch. The program is funded in part by revenue from the locally operated landfill.
