(BEDFORD) - The city of Bedford and the Bedford Area Chamber of Commerce will sponsor “Fall Clean Sweep Week” this week.
The Bedford Sanitation Department will pick up residential items - such as old tires, appliances, construction materials, and other items that normally are not collected.
People also can arrange for extra household trash to be picked up by calling, but the rubbish must be in a separate pile from the other items.
City residents must call 279-9222 for pick-up.
The chamber also invites volunteers to clean up streets and neighborhoods.
The chamber will provide trash bags to interested parties who will clean up an area, and the city crews will then pick up the trash that volunteers collected.
