(LINTON) - A Wednesday morning fire destroyed a mobile home in Linton.
The Linton Fire Department went to the home on North East F Street located between 5th and 6th Streets at 9 a.m.
The trailer was engulfed in flames when firefighters arrived at the home of Jerry and Patty McClary.
They were home when the fire started. Jerry McClary was about a block away from his home, helping a friend, when they noticed the smoke coming from the trailer. Patty McClary was with Pastor D'Lee Wentz, who co-pastors Heart of His Glory Church on Baseline Road with husband Michael, when she learned of the fire.
The couple lost not only their belongings but one of their dogs, a beagle named Lacey. Three other dogs escaped, but one had to be given oxygen.
It took firefighters about 10 minutes to extinguish the blaze, but the trailer was destroyed.
Firefighter Jayson Smith says the fire is not suspicious in nature, but they have requested the state fire marshal to investigate to determine what started the blaze.
