(BLOOMINGTON) - Monroe Lake will host an autumn-themed Harvest Moon Weekend at Paynetown State Recreation Area on Sept. 29-30.
A different set of autumn crafts will be offered each day from 1-5 p.m. A naturalist will rove the campground Saturday evening discussing fall leaf color.
On Sunday morning, there will be an autumn trees hike at 9:15 a.m. and face painting for kids from 10:30 a.m. to 12 p.m.
The highlight of the weekend is the Saturday campfire program at 8 p.m.: "The Harvest Moon: Mystery, Magic and Meaning."
Paynetown SRA is at 4850 S. S.R. 446 in Bloomington. The Paynetown SRA entrance fee is $5 per in-state vehicle or $7 per out-of-state vehicle.
