(MITCHELL) - Ten schools around the state will receive visits from an Indiana Supreme Court justice next week.
The visits on Sept. 19 and Sept. 21 are part of the celebration of Constitution Day by a state program called Courts in the Classroom.
The winning schools were chosen from more than 40 teachers who submitted essays on why they would like a justice to visit their classroom.
Chief Justice Brent Dickson and Justices Steven David and Mark Massa volunteered to visit the winning schools, which include high schools, junior highs, elementary schools, and an online academy.
The winners included schools in Mitchell, Nashville, Plainfield, Indianapolis, Fort Wayne and Paoli.
Constitution Day is celebrated each September in recognition of the signing of the U.S. Constitution on Sept.17, 1787.
