(BLOOMINGTON) - Friday and Saturday night the Indiana State Police conducted statewide patrols targeting impaired and dangerous drivers.
Statewide The Indiana State Police had the following activity: Troopers issued 4,105 tickets, 6,646 warnings, arrested 346 for operating a vehicle while intoxicated, and there were 360 criminal arrests.
Troopers from the Bloomington District had the following enforcement activity for the Friday and Saturday night patrols: Troopers issued 156 tickets, issued 260 warnings, made 20 arrests for operating a vehicle while intoxicated and 33 criminal arrests.
The Bloomington State Police District covers Monroe, Morgan, Owen, Lawrence, Brown and Greene Counties.
The Indiana State Police will continue to conduct saturation patrols and sobriety checkpoints to apprehend impaired drivers and to deter others from drinking and driving.
Motorists encountering another vehicle being operated erratically are encouraged to dial 911 or call the Bloomington Indiana State Police Post and be prepared to give a description of the vehicle, location, and direction of travel.
