(BLOOMINGTON) - IU Police Department was notified Saturday at 6:33 a.m. by IU Health Bloomington Hospital emergency room that a female was at the hospital reporting she had been raped.
The victim did not wish to report the rape at the time, but wanted a rape kit done
IUPD Chief Keith Cash says the department will save the test results and if she decides to proceed with the charges.. Cash says there is no statute of limitations for investigating reported rapes.
Then on Sunday an Indiana University female student reported she was raped between 2:30 and 4 a.m. Sunday.
Chief Keith Cash says the female met the suspect in the Memorial Stadium area Saturday. The two returned to a dorm room at Wright Quad, where they began to engage in sexual activity.
Cash says the woman told the male 'no' but the sexual activity continued. She reported the rape Sunday afternoon. Cash says the case is still under investigation.
This is the sixth rape of which IUPD has been notified this school year.
