(BLOOMFIELD) - 27-year-old Cory Cody, of Linton is in critical condition after he crashed his truck early Tuesday morning on State Road 54, west of Bloomfield.
Cody was taken to Wishard Hospital in Indianapolis by helicopter following the 1:35 a.m. wreck near the intersection of County Road 250 West.
According to Greene County Sheriff's Department Deputy Bobby Pierce Cody was traveling west on State Road 54 when his 2000 Chevrolet pickup crossed the center line, went off the roadway and hit a utility pole, crossed a ditch and came to a stop in the parking lot of Austin Memorial Arts.
Members of the Switz City and Richland Township Fire Departments had to free Cody from the wreckage.
Also assisting at the scene were personnel from the Bloomfield Police Department, Greene County Ambulance Service, and Utilities District of Western Indiana.
