(UNDATED) - State prison officials won’t say where they have placed released killer Robert E. Lee, but he is not in Monroe County.
A representative from the Department of Correction told Bloomington police "that they moved Mr. Lee out of our county to a location they have not disclosed within the same parole district," said Sgt. John Kovach, a Bloomington Police Department detective.
According Indiana Sex Offender Register, Lee is residing at 6925 N Private Road 575 E in Butlerville, in Jennings County.
DOC Media Liaison Amy Lanum said due to the large public attention, they decided they no longer wanted Lee to stay in Bloomington.
Lee, 57, received a 60-year prison sentence back in 1987 after being convicted of the dismemberment murder of 31-year-old Ellen Marks on Bloomington's west side.
