(SALEM) - The annual Old Settlers Days festival is scheduled in Salem for Saturday and Sunday.
Activities are centered on Stevens Museum, which is on East Market Street just east of the square.
SATURDAY
10 a.m.: Opening ceremony with prayer by Steve Fisher, from the First Christian Church, and the singing of the national anthem by Tom Rasley.
11 a.m.: Cherokee wedding ceremony with Frank and Carolyn Lindley.
11:30 a.m.: John Hay speech by Jerry Carrier, John Milton Hay House.
Noon: Morgan's Raiders, who will "rob" The Depot and portray a skirmish.
12:30 p.m.: Morgan's Raiders take control of the Pioneer Village.
1 p.m.: Lincoln imper-sonator at The Depot, remembering the 150th anniversary of Antietam/Sharpsburg.
1:30 p.m.: Gov. Oliver P. Morton impersonator addresses the crowd about the Morton/Lincoln relationship and the exile of Indiana Sen. Jesse D. Bright during the Civil War.
2 p.m.: John Hay speech by Jerry Carrier, The Depot.
2-4 p.m.: Tom Baker portrays Dr. Snake Oil in the Pioneer Village.
2:30 p.m.: A presentation called "Moonshining: the Lost Art of Indiana Whiskey and its Economic Importance," Pioneer Village.
4 p.m.: Lincoln impersonator delivers Gettysburg Address at The Depot.
6-10 p.m.: Tri Kappa of Salem presents "Flame Masters Beer on the Bricks Men's Grill Competition," Purlee Plaza near the square.
SUNDAY
8 a.m.: Church service with Stephen Fisher and the First Christian Church. Re-enacting John Edwards' "Sinners in the Hands of an Angry God."
Noon: Opening ceremony.
1 p.m.: Lincoln impersonator at the Hay House.
2 p.m.: John Hay speech by Jerry Carrier, The Depot.
3 p.m.: Moonshine demonstration.
4 p.m.: Rooster crowing and hog-calling contest.
