(ORLEANS) - The Town of Orleans and the Orleans Chamber of Commerce have announced plans for the upcoming “Town-Wide Fall Clean Sweep Week” September 24-29.
The Town Street Department will pick up residential items such as appliances, old furniture, construction materials, carpet and other items that normally will not be collected free of charge for this one week only.
These items should be set at curbside or next to the street for easy pick up.
Town residents are encouraged to call Orleans Town Offices, 865-2539 to arrange for pick-up.
A large dumpster will be set up, similar to Dogwood clean up at the Town Garage area on Franklin Street for resident use during this week as well.
Large Items may be brought to the dumpster at the garage, again at no charge. The dumpster will be available Monday to Friday from 7 a.m. to 8 p.m. and on that Saturday the 29th from 7 a.m. to Noon.
A permanent recycling bin for old newspapers is also located at the town garage and will be available during those times as well. Other times of the year the bin may be accessed during normal working hours.
