(MITCHELL) - Quilt and art exhibits will be featured at the Mitchell Community Public Library during the 66th annual Persimmon Festival.
Jacqui Milliern, youth services librarian says, the quilts are made by members of the Spring Mill Stitchers and will be on exhibit upstairs in the library through Oct. 2.
Original art from Indiana artists will be open to the public Sept. 24-25 and Sept. 27-29 in the Community Room on the lower level. Display cases also will contain items made by local artisans.
Join the library's Comics and Manga Club at 6 p.m. Thursday to share favorite characters, discuss story lines, and create new plots and people. Ages 8-18 are welcome. No registration required. Capes optional.
Teens, looking for something to do? Volunteer at the library and gain valuable job skills while assisting the community. Stop in the library to visit with Youth Services Librarian Jacqui Milliern at 804 W. Main St. in Mitchell or call 849-2412 about becoming a library volunteer.
The library will close at 2 p.m. on Sept. 29 in observance of the Persimmon Festival Parade.
