(PATOKA) - On behalf of the Department of Natural Resources, the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Patoka Lake Water & Sewer District, and the Patoka Lake Watershed Steering Committee, we would like to send out a huge thanks to all of the volunteers who assisted with the 5th Annual Patoka Lake Cleanup Day.
Volunteers helped break last year's record by bringing in 2,550 lbs of trash and debris from the lake shore.
This helped to make Patoka a safer, cleaner and more enjoyable place for our visitors in the future. Volunteers were rewarded with free lunch and reusable water bottles.
One volunteer went home with a new life jacket and another left with a new t-shirt after a door prize drawing was held at the end of the day.
The prizes were compliments of Hoosier Hills Marina. The marina also furnished its facilities for lunch and the prize drawing.
Again, thank you to all who made it out to help with the cleanup efforts. Without you, none of this would have been possible!
