(MITCHELL) - Two people were hurt in a 3-vehicle accident at the intersection of State Road 60 East and Kelso Road Thursday afternoon.
According to a Lawrence County Police report, 52-year-old Bruce Duff, of King George, VA., was traveling east on State Road 60 East when he slowed his 2001 Harley Davidson motorcycle to make a right turn onto Kelso Road.
29-year-old Misty Starr, of Bedford, was behind the motorcycle and says Duff did not use his turn signal when he suddenly stopped to make the turn. Starr attempted to avoid a collision with the motorcycle by swerving her 2001 Ford Windstar, but the vehicle clipped the back of the motorcycle and when she crossed the center line her vehicle yawed and hit a westbound 2008 Ford Focus, driven by 39-year-old Tricia Brown, of Salem.
Brown told police she saw the Windstar and attempted to avoid a head-on collision and swerved hitting a mailbox.
Police say when they investigated the scene, they found the motorcycle still had its turn signal flashing. Duff also told police he hand signaled the turn.
Duff suffered internal injuries and complained of should pain. He was taken to St. Vincent Dunn Hospital.
Brown complained of arm pain. Starr was not injured.
