(WASHINGTON) - Around 6:40 p.m. Thursday evening, Washington Police received a call reporting a hit-and-run in a parking lot on West National Highway.
When Police arrived they found that a yellow pick-up had struck another car and then drove away.
Witnesses gave police a license plate number for the pick-up and said the truck was being driven by Steven Geary.
Approximately, fifteen minutes later, Washington Police Officers located the suspect pick-up at a residence in the 700 block of West Walnut.
The license plate had been removed. A wrecker was called for the pick-up.
Around the same time, officers located 39-year-old Steven Geary near the old Tokheim building.
Geary was arrested on charges of leaving the scene of a property damage accident, operating a vehicle while suspended with a prior, a Gibson County warrant for failure to appear, a Knox County warrant for failure to appear, and two counts of possession of a Schedule IV controlled substance. He was transported to the Daviess County Security Center.
