(BEDFORD) - Aldi and Ruler Foods in Bedford are in a price war over several items including sugar, milk and eggs.
According to Joe Lackey, president of the Indiana Grocery & Convenience Store Association, the low prices are limited to a certain area.
Aldi has historically underpriced other stores on milk, selling it for $1.79, $1.49 and most recently 99 cents a gallon. Recently, Ruler has followed suit and dropped the price of its milk to 99 cents, sugar is 79 cents for 5 pounds and eggs are 29 cents a dozen.
Ruler manager Jeff Buffington said the store is seeing increased traffic.
