(BEDFORD) - A Bedford man and his wife were injured after they were thrown from a golf cart Saturday night.
The incident happened around 9:05 p.m. at Otis Park Golf Course at the #6 bunker.
According to Bedford Police Chief Dennis Parsley, the woman was driving the golf cart and didn't see the bunker and crashed throwing both her and her husband from the cart.
"They were having a night golf outing and the area was not well lite and she just didn't see the sand trap," Parsley says. "She hit the bunker and both were thrown from the golf cart. She suffered minor scrapes and bruises, but he was taken to IU Health Hospital and then flown by helicopter to Methodist Hospital."
Parsley says the man suffered a ruptured spleen and internal injuries. He did undergo surgery and his spleen was removed.
