(BEDFORD) - Tim Chen, of the Bedford Police Department, was promoted to sergeant at the Bedford Board of Works meeting Monday afternoon.
Chen will replace Officer Greg Hagan.
Hagan, who held the sergeants position, resigned his rank and requested to be returned to a 1st class patrol officer.
Bedford Police Chief Dennis Parsley says Hagan requested the change because of personal and family reasons.
The board approved the request.
In other business:
The board opened a bid for a new computer aided dispatch and records management system for the police department. Spillman Technology, of Salt Lake City provided the only bid for a total price of $295,188. The board took the bid under advisement.
The board approved Bledsoe Riggert & Guerrettaz Inc. to perform an elevation survey for about 211 sewer manholes. Utility Director Misty Adams, says the survey is needed as part of the cities master infrastructure plan. The cost of the survey will be $51,760.
