(BLOOMINGTON) - A 22-year-old pregnant woman told Bloomington police she was strangled in front of her two-year-old child.
Bloomington Police Sgt. Scott Myers says the woman and 19-year-old the man Colin Clevenger, who she lives with, were arguing in a bedroom when he pushed her, causing her to fall on the bed.
Myers says when she attempted to call police Clevenger grabbed the phone.
After getting off the bed, Clevenger allegedly pushed her against a wall and put his hands around her neck.
Myers says this all happened in front of the woman's 2-year-old child.
Clevenger fled the scene before police arrived, but they found him a short time later. Clevenger was arrested and charged with battery, domestic battery and strangulation and interfering with reporting of a crime.
