(BLOOMINGTON) - A night of heavy drinking led to a Bloomington couple exchanging blows.
When Bloomington Police arrived at the home at 12:23 a.m. in the 500 block of Hays Court they found both 56-year-old Samuel Dale and his wife battered and bruised.
Dale suffered injuries after his wife hit him in the face with a table fan.
According to BPD Lt. Bill Parker, Dale shoved his wife, picked her up and wrapped his hands around her neck chocking her.
At the time of the fight the couple's grown daughter and three grandchildren ages, 10, 6, and 4, were inside the home. The 10-year-old told police he was woke after hearing screams and the sounds of someone falling down the stairs.
Dale was arrested and charged with domestic assault and strangulation, both Class D felonies. His wife was not charged.
