(COLUMBUS) - Columbus City Firefighters delivered a baby at a local apartment complex early Thursday morning.
Firefighters Scott Bonnell, Mathew Dwyer, Rick Mullis and off-duty paramedic Don Richards delivered the baby boy within 4 minutes of arrival to the Quail Run Apartment
Deputy Chief of EMS Mike Cutsco says the baby was premature but there were no issues, the father was able to cut the umbilical cord.
Cutsco says it's a "once in a career" occurrence. But, one firefighters train for to insure public safety.
The incident unfolded around 2:20 Thursday morning.
