(COLUMBUS) - A Columbus man has been arrested 20 times in 2012.
Police arrested 46-year-old Joseph L. Nichols on Tuesday on charges of public intoxication and resisting arrest.
Columbus police said Nichols' arrest Tuesday marks the 16th alcohol-related arrest this year. He was arrested four other times this year on outstanding warrants.
Officers described Nichols as "extremely intoxicated" Tuesday night. Someone had called concerned he was breaking into cars in the 1100 block of California Street.
Nichols told police he'd been drinking for two consecutive days.
Nichols was taken to Columbus Regional Hospital and released and then taken to jail.
