(MITCHELL) - Next month, Darren Speer will no longer be an employee of the Mitchell schools.
But he'll still be in the buildings to work on computers.
Speer has joined KiNETiK Networks LLC.
The school system already had an agreement with the company to address various computer issues
Last week, the school board accepted Speer's resignation, effective Oct. 31.
The board approved an eight-month service agreement with KiNETiK starting Nov. 1.
Superintendent Steve Phillips said, in the long run, the deal will save the school corporation money.
According to the service agreement, the school system will pay $6,225 per month for a range of services itemized in a list of 22 items.
Some of those are monitoring critical devices, troubleshooting workstations and server installation.
