(BLOOMINGTON) - Joe Ford was named one of four recipients of the Clevenger Award during a ceremony at Indiana University this past weekend.
Joe, a standout football player at Bedford North Lawrence High School, traveled up the road to Bloomington to play for IU coaches Sam Wyche and Bill Mallory.
A former president and chairman of the board of the IU Varsity Club, Joe is a partner with Harris and Ford, an Indianapolis-based chemical company.
The Z.G. Clevenger Award is presented to living I Men who, as alumni, have made outstanding contributions to the university through service to its athletic program.
Other 2012 recipients are Thomas Cole, Daniel Lintner and Gary Grieger, who played basketball for IU in the early 1960s following a stellar career at Evansville Bosse.
