(MITCHELL) - The Lawrence County Art Association will sponsor a six-week course on hand-built ceramics Oct. 13 through Nov. 17.
Retired art teacher Carol Cammack will teach the classes from 9-11 a.m. on Saturdays from home at 409 W. Hancock Ave.
Cammack has a bachelor's degree from Anderson College in art education and a master's from Indiana University. She taught art classes for Orleans Community Schools for 26 years. She is a member of the Hoosier Salon and Indiana Heritage Association and has exhibited in shows at the Hoosier Salon New Harmony and the Indianapolis Broadripple Galleries. She was juried into the Indiana Heritage Art Show in Nashville last spring, and her work has won Best of Show in this year's Persimmon Festival Art Show.
The class is open to adults with any experience working with clay. Cammack will include instruction for creating two projects -- a pumpkin and a hand-built box with lid.
The cost is $30, which includes all materials and firing. To sign up, call Phyllis Westfall at 279-4734.
