(LINTON) - Linton Police Chief Troy Jerrell would like to get at least a grand - $1,000 - for each of three aging police cruisers.
Jerrell says the patrol cars have reached the end of their useful life as police cruisers. Among those for sale: a 1994 Chevrolet Caprice, the oldest car in the police's fleet. And two relatively younger models, 2002 and 2003 Grand Marquises
The cars will be sold, with the money returned to cover expenses for upkeep on the city's current police fleet.
City Council President Tony Richards, an experienced auto dealer, will take offers on the cars through Bob Walters Linton Motors.
