(BEDFORD) - 22-year-old Seth Flynn, of Bedford, was arrested early this morning after he allegedly poured hot wax over his girlfriend’s head and choked her.
The victim came to the police station to report she had been battered by her boyfriend.
According to Bedford Police Chief Dennis Parsley the victim says she and Flynn got into an argument that turned violent.
"During the argument, Mr. Flynn allegedly picked up a lit candle, threw it at the victim and poured the hot wax over her head," Parsley says. "He then grabbed her by the throat and choked her and then picked her up by the throat, threw her to the ground."
Reports indicate that the victim was able to get up during the incident.
"That is when Flynn allegedly punched her in the face and ribs and then grabbed her by the hair and threw her out of the apartment they shared," Parsley says.
Police were then called to the apartment in the 2400 block of M Street and arrested Flynn.
Flynn was booked into the Lawrence County Jail at 12:40 a.m. on charges of domestic battery causing injury and strangulation.
While there they realized the victim's mother, Kellie Phillips, of Bedford, was wanted on a warrant for failure to appear and she was arrested.
