(OOLITIC) - It’s Breast Cancer Awareness month and the Oolitic Volunteer Fire Department is selling pink fire department t-shirts.
Oolitic VFD Chief Jason Lewis says all of the proceeds made from the shirts are being split equally between the fire department and a foundation that will provide local support to cancer victims. The department will sell the shirts until November 3.
The department is also hosting their annual hog roast on October 13th and will be selling and taking orders for shirts then.
On November 3rd the department will be honoring anyone who has served on the Oolitic VFD.
"2013 will mark the 100 year birthday of the department," Lewis says. "And we are looking for past members. Those members need to give us a call and RSVP. We recently completed our first year with the youth fire and emergency services explorer group."
