(UNDATED) - High school marching bands from Orleans, Paoli and Springs Valley are among 10 bands that qualified during regional competition Saturday for the
Indiana State School Music Association semistate in Franklin on Oct. 27.
The 10 bands earned gold ratings, which were required for them to advance to the next level of competition. The field of bands still in the running for state titles is down to 80; the semistate round will further narrow the field, determining the 40 Hoosier bands that will compete in four classes in the state championship finals on Nov. 3.
The 40 bands advancing to the semistate were determined in four regional contests around Indiana.
The three Orange County bands competed at Evansville.
