(NEEDMORE) - Lawrence County Sheriff Sam Craig says his department has received several complaints about The Salt Creek Brewery is at the intersection of Trogden Lane and Old Ind. 37 in Needmore.
Not only has the sheriff's department received complaints but so have the commissioners.
The brewery is owned by Brad Hawkins who is determined to make his brewery a major tourist attraction for Lawrence County.
However residents in the area are complaining about the loud music late at night and vehicles parking along the roadways.
Craig says the department can issue tickets and have vehicles removed if they are parked illegally, but he questioned the commissioners about a noise ordinance.
Commissioner Dave Flinn says he too has questions and has asked county attorney Dave Smith to look into the issue.
Commissioner President Chris May says the commissioners hands are tied because there is no zoning in Lawrence County.
"We would hope everyone would want to be good neighbors," Mays says. "But with no zoning, it is out of our hands and I don't think there is much we can do."
