(BEDFORD) - Bedford Police arrested 19-year-old Skylar Smith, of Bedford, after police stopped a vehicle on Mitchell Road early Wednesday morning.
Police discovered Smith, who was a passenger in the vehicle, was wanted on a warrant for petition to revoke probation.
According to Bedford Police Chief Dennis Parsley, Smith gave police a false name but finally admitted who he was.
He told police he lied, because he knew he was wanted on a warrant.
A 16-year-old female, who was with Smith, also lied to police and gave a false name.
"Officers later determined who she was," Parsley says.
Smith was arrested on charges of petition to revoke probation, possession of marijuana and false informing.
The teen was charged with possession of marijuana, false informing and violation of curfew. She was released to her mother.
