(BEDFORD) - A Mitchell woman was arrested Saturday after she went to Shoe Show and walked out of the store with a new pair of shoes.
21-year-old Alex Marie Tomlinson, of 527 Grandma Brown Road, was charged with theft and false informing.
According to Bedford Police Chief Dennis Parsley officers were called to Shoe Show at 4:01 p.m. and employees were able to give police a description of the people in the store and the license plate number of the blue car that was parked in the JCPenney's parking lot.
Police reviewed surveillance video and saw Tomlinson tuck the Aloha Island shoes under her arm and coat and walk out of the store.
Police found Tomlinson in a vehicle parked at Big Lots.
"She lied to police, giving numerous stories on where she got the shoes," Parsley says. "That is why she was charged with false informing."
Police took Tomlinson back to Shoe Show and employees were able to positively identify Tomlinson as the person who walked out of the store with the shoes.
