(BEDFORD) - Bedford Firefighters were busy Saturday battling two brush fires.
The fire was reported at 5:07 p.m. at the cemetery on North Madison Street.
According to Battalion Chief Ken Teague, firefighters found the woods and the whole back line of the cemetery on fire.
"Firefighters used water from the trucks, portable extinguishers, rakes and shoves to put out the blaze," Teague says. "They also notified Bedford Police because of the suspicious nature of the fire."
While battling that blaze firefighters were notified about a second fire at 5:31 p.m. in the 1400 block of Oak Manor.
"The fire was behind a home in the woods," Teague says. "Again they used the water from the truck, portable extinguishers, shoves and rakes and put the fire out quickly."
