(BEDFORD) - A Bedford man and woman were arrested after Oolitic K9 Shani alerted police to possible drugs in their vehicle.
According to Oolitic Deputy Town Marshall Bill Allen, an off duty Indiana State Police trooper stopped the vehicle on John Williams Boulevard just before 10 p.m. Tuesday. Vincent pulled her vehicle into the parking lot of the Comfort Inn.
According to Allen the trooper noticed the driver Claire Vincent and the trooper knew she was driving on a suspended license.
The trooper then called Allen and Shani to assist with the traffic stop.
Allen says Shani alerted officers that there were drugs in the vehicle.
"Shani found marijuana and heroin in the vehicle," Allen says. "We also found some syringes."
Vincent, 32, of 643 Riley Boulevard and her passenger 21-year-old Joshua Moen, of the same address were arrested and charged with maintaining a common nuisance, possession of marijuana and heroin and reckless possession of paraphernalia.
Vincent was also cited for driving while her driver's license was suspended.
